On November 2nd, Mexico's Day of the Dead, the Federal Police attempt to enter University City which houses Radio Universidad, the only remaining means of communication for the APPO. Under the threat of silencing the movement’s radio, thousands of Oaxacans went into the streets to confront the Federal Police.
