The Conflict in Oaxaca
Students run from tear gas. On November 20th a march of students and members of the APPO, a loose coalition of Oaxacans against Governor Ulises Ruiz that includes teachers, students, unions, social and indigenous organizations, activists, leftists and members of the general public, turned into a violent confrontation between protesters and the Federal Police that were occupying the city center.
